ロックバンド”GLAY”のギタリスト。
1971年5月26日生。北海道函館市出身。
1988年GLAYを結成、1994年5月シングル『RAIN』でメジャーデビュー。
「HOWEVER」「誘惑」「Winter,again」他、数々のミリオンセラー作品を持つ。
GLAYの楽曲中のほとんどの作詞作曲をTAKUROが手掛けている。
デビュー以来環境問題／社会貢献に強い関心を持っており2001年坂本龍一氏の呼びかけで「地雷ZEROキャンペーン」に参加した他、2003年からは”環境問題を判りやすく”をモットーにしたイベント「Re-style LIVE」を友人のエコDJ・やまだひさしと立ち上げた。
近年は北海道夕張市の中学校にGLAYの一員として部活動のユニフォームの寄贈や自社の中に「ラバーソウルファウンディション」を立ち上げ未来ある子供たちへの支援活動を行っている。
今年6月には自主レーベル【loversoul music & associates】を設立。
その新レーベル第1弾として2010年9月8日にはシングル「Precious」をリリース、そして、同年10月13日にはセルフタイトルであり、10枚目のオリジナルアルバムとなる「GLAY」をリリースした。

Profile
A guitarist of Japanese rock band ‘GLAY’. Born on May 26th, 1971 in Hakodate, Hokkaido.
Formed GLAY in 1988 and made its major debut with the first single ‘RAIN’ in May 1994. Has many million-seller tunes such as ‘HOWEVER’, ‘Yuwaku’, ‘Winter, again’ etc and TAKUROis the main composer and lyricist of GLAY's songs.
Since his debut he has been higily interested in the environmental issues and social activities. In 2001, TAKURO participated in the campaign ‘A Goal of Zero Landmines’ responding the call from Ryuichi Sakamoto. In 2003, together with radio DJ Hisashi Yamada, he launched an event ‘Re-style LIVE’ which aims at introducing environmental problems in an easy-to-understand manner.
Recently as a member of GLAY, he has established ‘loversoul foundation’ and been supporting children in Yubari city, Hokkaido such as donating school club uniforms.
In June 2010, founded self-owned label ‘loversoul music& associates’ and the first single from the label ‘Precious’ was released on September 8th, 2010. On October 13th of the same year, the 10th original album ‘GLAY’ was also released.
